"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, comprising in that event previously this season.

His defensive play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He saved four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
